Brennan Knives

Meet Patrick Brennan owner of Brennan Knives based in Chapel Hill, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny.

I had the pleasure of meeting, photographing and having a cup of tea with Patrick during the week. What a fascinating man. In 2010 a major accident saw Patricks life change dramatically, but, through his rehabilitation, Patrick found his passion in knife making. He has trained with Master Knifemakers in America and is also part of the coveted The Knife Makers Guild as well as the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland.

Patricks workshop is very welcoming with every available space used wisely to make the process of his craft flow smoothly. Knife making takes about 40 hours per knife. Not having the right tool to hand at the very end could prove detrimental so having a place for everything and everything in its place is essential.

Patrick is an inspiraton, his talent and his artistry are outstanding and I am really looking forward to working on future projects with him.
